The amount I’ve learned over the last 2 years has been immeasurable, un-quantifiable. It has, in many senses, been like going back to school. The old(er) guy at the back of the class….
With learning you follow these cycles it seems, the more you learn is not at all correlated with how confident you feel, in fact at times it feels very negatively correlated.
Tomorrow we have our third break the app, for version 3.0 of Upside’s app.
Third because we found blocking issues, in the last two. Bugs.
But tomorrow is important as we have after 2 years of struggling, debating, arguing, (in my case crying, laughing…) finally built an “investment journey”.
It is an in-app, a multi-pathed journey for investors, users, of any previous skill set, to build a portfolio. You can know absolutely nothing about investing and, following videos, notes, and AI led nudges, build a portfolio.
A real portfolio, measuring covariance, volatility and most importantly inscribing users preferences.
Now, that, to me, is really cool.
The challenge is now to explain that, to everyone. everywhere.
The message of do not trade, invest, sometimes fails to launch. The concept of learning treads the tightrope of being patronising and safety to some is boring.
How can we be exciting, boring, safe, positive, informative and interesting. Nailing that narrative is now my biggest job, but I didnt want to miss the awesome work from my teachers over the last 24 months. You know who you are !
